چکیده
Background: This retrospective study aimed to identify key factors affecting the rate of complete resection for non-metastatic rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) using both transanal local excision (TLE) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD). Methods: Records in past 10 years were retrieved, a total 95 patients diagnosed with NETs sized between 10-20 mm. Treatment outcomes first compared TLE ESD significantly associated factors. Monofactor analysis was then performed resections risk factors, which subjected multivariable independent Results: depth invasion (P=0.039) complete/local (P=0.048). By monofactor resections, invasion, tumor size, stage manifestation identified be (P=0.014, 0.003, 0.002 0.028, respectively). In subsequent analysis, size odds ratio 18.838 37.223, 95% confidence interval 1.242-285.800 2.839-488.078, respectively. Conclusion: Depth that affect mm NETs.

Metastatic neuroendocrine hepatic tumors: resection improves survival.
BACKGROUND The optimal treatment for hepatic metastases from neuroendocrine tumors remains controversial because of the often indolent nature of these tumors. We sought to determine the effect of 3 major treatment modalities including medical therapy, hepatic artery embolization, and surgical resection, ablation, or both in patients with liver-only neuroendocrine metastases, with the hypothesis...
متن کاملA Retrospective Analysis of Neuroendocrine Tumors in West Azarbaijan Province, Iran
Neuroendocrine tumors are most often located in the intestine and lungs but they can arise from other areas of the body. Limited data is available on epidemiology and clinical patterns of neuroendocrine tumors in Iran. We analyzed medical records of 34 patients from 2 cancer centers (Emam Khomeini hospital and Omid Charity Cancer Center) in west Azarbaijan province of Iran with neuroendocrine t...
متن کاملClinical impact of endoscopic ultrasonography for small rectal neuroendocrine tumors.
BACKGROUND/AIMS Endoscopic ultrasonography (EUS) is helpful for evaluating the depth of tumor invasion and lymph node metastasis of rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs). The aim of this study was to clarify the clinical impact of EUS for rectal NETs less than 10 mm in diameter. MATERIALS AND METHODS A total of 76 rectal NETs treated at our hospital between June 2006 and March 2013 were reviewe...
متن کامل"Underwater" endoscopic submucosal dissection: a novel technique for complete resection of a rectal neuroendocrine tumor.
Many techniques for endoscopic resection of rectal neuroendocrine tumors (NETs) have been reported [1]. Among these, endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) has recently been applied [2]. Although ESD may have the advantage over conventional endoscopic mucosal resection of achieving a complete (R0) resection [3], the crush artifact caused by burn or coagulation from repeated exposure to electric...
متن کاملUnderwater endoscopic mucosal resection: a new endoscopic method for resection of rectal neuroendocrine tumor grade 1 (carcinoid) ≤ 10 mm in diameter
Background and study aims Rectal neuroendocrine tumors grade 1 (NET G1; carcinoid) ≤ 10 mm in diameter often extend into the submucosa, making their complete histological resection difficult using endoscopic techniques. Endoscopic submucosal resection with a ligation device (ESMR-L) and endoscopic submucosal dissection (ESD) are commonly used to overcome these difficulties. We also previously ...
